- 1983: Norvell was founded by Rick Norvell in Nashville, Tennessee, with Norvell Skincare Solutions and its first product, Body Drench Lotion.
- 2000: Rick Norvell expanded the business into sunless spray tanning, contributing to the growth and scale of the category.
- 2007: The Norvell M1000 Spray Gun launched, setting new expectations for handheld spray tan equipment.
- 2009: Norvell University launched as the industry’s first certified spray tan program, establishing formal education standards. The Norvell Arena backdrop also debuted during this period.
- 2012: Norvell introduced its signature Venetian Solution with VIO-7 technology to counter unwanted orange undertones.
- 2014: Norvell expanded its solution lineup with the introduction of its Competition spray tan formula.
- 2016: Norvell became part of INNOVÉ Beauty & Wellness, previously Sunless Inc. That same year, Norvell introduced the first Rapid Spray Tan Solution packaged in an Everfresh box.
- 2018: Norvell earned recognition as the number one professional spray tan choice.
- 2020: The Norvell Oasis Spray Gun launched, continuing the brand’s focus on handheld performance and control.
